THAT’S A WRAP ON 2017

We all tend to do a final look back on the previous year and/or a look to the future on December 31st. We count our successes. We analyze our failures. We prepare for whats to come in the next 12 months.

As I look back on 2017, for me the biggest thing I see is that I tried a lot harder to live in the moment. I may not have been perfect at it… (let’s face it, it’s hard to not wish for vacation to start already, right!?) But I can truly say that in the summer I didn’t wish for colder weather. In the winter I didn’t wish for the heat. I just took it all as it came, and lived my life.

I did a lot more photoshoots — actually just beating out my goal set on the 1st! But I didn’t lose any weight. And I didn’t read a book a month. I’m not as in shape as I’d like, but I didn’t gain weight either. On a whole, I would call the year a successful one… and it comes to a close with very cold temperatures, but also a whole lot of sunshine. I’ll take that with a smile.

I don’t know what to expect next year. My husband and I have been doing a lot of talking about where we are. Where we want to be. Analyzing our dreams, hopes and wishes. And as a result of those discussions, I look out at the next year with a little bit of nervousness and unknown.

But I also know that no matter what 2018 throws at us, we are a team and we will get through it all together. And every success we will celebrate, and every fail we will learn. Which, you know what? What more could I really ask of any year?

Happy New Year, ya’ll. Be safe tonight, and see you in 2018!
