One year ago, a kitten showed up at @yazootaproom One year ago, a kitten showed up at @yazootaproom and @jtriddle rescued it from the parking lot. After resisting for hours, I ended up taking her home with me. Before the end of my shift that night I had already started calling it River, after the fact that the Taproom address is River Bluff Drive. A trip to the vet the next day confirmed it was a female and ultimately sealed the deal of her being our newest family member. She now runs the house, keeping her two older brothers on their little beans. She inspired the account of @twotabbytux and videos of her have more views than anything else I've ever posted to social media. She plays fetch with plastic springs. Demands all the lovin' in the morning. Will body slam against you when she really happy. And her little mew has never gotten much bigger than it was the day I brought her home. Today, I found one of her springs in my purse (pictured), and it made me literally laugh out loud. Swipe to see the day she came home and then of her today. My sweet River... I was so tired last night; I asked that we keep to I was so tired last night; I asked that we keep today up in the air. We had been planning to attend @goodguysrodandcustom for months, but between work and radiation I was out of energy. Today, though, I felt great. And I look forward to Good Guys every year as much as my husband does. (Why we aren't members by now, I don't know.) So I asked if hubs was still down to go... He was and away we went. So. Much. Fun. We ended the day with a little brewery crawl, and I can absolutely say this was a GREAT DAY. 💗 🚗🍻 #carshow #goodguysnashville #nashvillesuperspeedway
Sixteen of twenty radiation treatments done. Tomor Sixteen of twenty radiation treatments done. Tomorrow I will have the first of four boosted treatments. They will focus strictly on the area where the tumor was. I'm so tired. And it feels like I have a mild sunburn. But on a whole I'm doing really well. Monday I will ring the bell, signifying the end of radiation. I am so excited for that! Then I'll come back a week later to check how my skin is doing. So close to being done. So. Close. I am extremely grateful for the care I have, am and will continue to be receiving through Tennessee Oncology and Carpenter Cancer Center. What a day. What a last several days. Craft Brewer What a day. What a last several days. Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville meant all hands on deck, welcoming brewers and vendors from, well, around the world. Shout out to the amazing crew at Yazoo. Tonight was one for the books, and it just solidified to me that we have one helluva staff. Let's do it again in, like, 5 years.

I have something of a tradition that started over I have something of a tradition that started over 10 years ago. When I go to any sort of a medical appointment I follow it up with coffee. Now granted a few times that hasn't happened for various reasons, but more often than not I grab a coffee somewhere. I guess it's kind of like getting a sucker at the end of a pediatric appointment when you were a kid. Doing 20 radiation treatments I joked with friends that there was no way I could keep the tradition up. I'd go broke! LOL Lo and behold a friend Venmo'd me some money with the order to keep my tradition going. So these 20 radiation treatments are now also turning into a tour of coffee shops. 🥰 Sure puts a bright spin on all these trips to the center! #coffee #kindnessmatters

Happy Easter. I've contemplated this post for a Happy Easter. I've contemplated this post for a few days now. I actually intended it to be a blog post so I could go deeper in depth with a lot of stuff I have on my mind. But I figured lots of words sometimes makes the point get lost. This Lent I didn't give anything up, but instead chose to learn, meditate and pray every day. And in doing so, I discovered so many things! I learned more about Bible stories that I've heard all my life. I learned more about the Judaism. I learned more about myself. I learned more about others. I saw parallels in my life every week that seemed to coincide with that week's topic. I went on quite the journey. And here is the biggest takeaway I had: Love. Just love. And the harder it is to love, the more fierce you need to love. Do all things with love. I am forever working on that. But I'm trying. Jesus says to love one another as he loved us. And when you boil it all down, that's what today is about... and what every single day SHOULD be about. ❤️
Monday Mood ... I fell into a bad mood yesterday, Monday Mood ... I fell into a bad mood yesterday, and I'm still trying to work myself out of it. I was hoping a good night of sleep would fix it. While sleep helped, there's still lingering melancholy that I'm trying to figure out and work through. Cloudy skies certainly aren't helping matters. I'm hoping my fun Dolly mug of coffee will help. I usually work Mondays, but I took today off to ta I usually work Mondays, but I took today off to take Craig to an eye appointment. It's probably our only chance to catch the Time Jumpers for a long time, so I snagged us tickets for a date night. Tomorrow I start physical therapy and Wednesday I meet with radiology. But tonight... Tonight I will enjoy an evening of music with my man. My heart is heavy with today's events here in Nashville, but I need tonight. ❤️
